CRYSLER, Ontario – Local leaders and officials from GFL Environmental on Tuesday celebrated a significant donation that will allow the Township of North Stormont to procure some much-need emergency service vehicles.
GFL Environmental has officially provided the township with a $260,000 donation that is earmarked for the purchase of essential fire service vehicles.
GFL Environmental, a longtime community partner and a leader among corporate citizens in our region, celebrated the contribution which is a demonstration of the company’s commitment to North Stormont.
“Over the years GFL has proven to be a reliable community partner,” said North Stormont Mayor Francois Landry. “GFL’s generosity is illustrated through a number of donations to our township that have allowed for the construction of a new community centre, as an example, and now allows us to secure fire service vehicles that will make our township safer.”
Those sentiments were echoed by GFL.
“For GFL, this sponsorship is primarily to consolidate our relationship with the community in which we have been working for several years. Our support to the North Stormont Fire Department also fits perfectly with one of our core values which is for our employees, customers, suppliers and the communities in which we operate to be safe for life,” said Jean-Philippe Laliberté, GFL’s vice-president of landfill and compost operations – eastern Canada.
