Hi there, and welcome to our 4th edition of Local Spins from Bud’s Records And Kool Things.

On this edition I’ll be elaborating on my friendship with Bud, our band, and our big sale happening on June 22nd. You won’t want to miss it!

If you haven’t read edition 1 and 2 I highly recommend you go back and read these to hear the back story about how I met Bud and our friendship over the years.

Not long after Bud and I first met we started a band called The Late Nights (now known as “Doctor Mom”) where I would mostly play lead guitar to some of Bud’s already written songs. A few months into our band I had to move to Ottawa due to personal circumstance. Once I was in Ottawa, we added a third member to our band, Kevin Fraser on the drums.

We started renting jam studios in and around the city and Bud would come up to jam a few times a month to all jam together. During our sessions, we would often alternate each other’s instruments for different songs. A lot of those recordings I have on video and audio which I plan on releasing in the coming months. The time in the studio was spent bonding and getting to know each other over sharing our various musical influences. I will never forget that time I had with Bud.

Kevin and I became roommates in this house and turned the basement into our own jam room/recording studio. Kevin and I would rehearse almost daily and would bring Bud up to speed during practices. But was a natural at writing songs, the lyrics just seemed to come to him so naturally.

In the next edition I will go into how we went from The Late Nights to Doctor Mom.

Last but not least, on June 22 we will be hosting our famous buy 3 get one FREE. You won’t want to miss out! And on July 13th we will be hosting our first Maplewood Market where there will be a handful of vendors around the store.
