“The Great Illusion of Freedom: Surely This Must Be a Democracy?” I read the article and found it intriguing. It delves into the idea that modern capitalism presents itself as democracy by offering consumer choice while actually stifling free thought and dissent. The author argues that this system perpetuates inequality and environmental harm, all while masking its self-destructive nature beneath layers of consumerism. My favourite quote “ Today, we are trying to solve the disasters of capitalism with more capitalism. This has never worked, and it never will.” I agree with him. – Louise Mignault

“From Flames to Fury: Unravelling the Social Media Blame Game After Jasper’s Fire”. I read this article this morning and liked it for a few reasons – it’s informative, well written and balanced. The piece skillfully cuts through the noise, debunking conspiracy theories and their proponents while highlighting the real issue at hand: global warming. The author also offers a balanced perspective on government responsibility, shedding light on the historical decline in firefighter funding across the board. Note: it’s worth reading the links in the story. – Louise Mignault
