Cornwall is preparing to shine on the global stage this summer, transforming into a vibrant hub of cultural unity, celebration, and community connection. The International Afro and Diversity Festival of Cornwall SDG (FIADCSDG) returns for its much-anticipated three-day event from July 11 to 13, 2025—and this year’s theme sets an ambitious and exciting tone: “Destination Cornwall: A Crossroad of Cultures Where Diversity Thrives.

” This powerful message positions Cornwall not only as a festival host but as a living symbol of multiculturalism in action—where heritage, tourism, and economic opportunity intersect to build a better, more inclusive future.

More Than a Festival—A Cultural Movement From its riverfront beauty to its growing multicultural population, Cornwall has evolved into an emblem of diversity done right. This year’s FIADCSDG will spotlight that transformation with a dynamic program aimed at uniting residents and visitors around themes of culture, identity, and inclusion.

“This festival is about building bridges, nurturing understanding, and showcasing the richness that diversity brings to our city,” says Flora Kra, founder and CEO of the festival. “We want to make Cornwall a must-visit cultural destination—not just for this weekend, but for the future.”

What to Expect: Festival Highlights (July 11–13 at Lamoureux Park):

  • Live Cultural Performances
Featuring vibrant music, dance, and spoken word from African, Caribbean, and global diaspora artists.
  • Interactive Cultural Workshops
Explore traditional dance, drumming, craft-making, and more—led by experienced cultural educators.
  • Diversity Market

Why This Theme Matters In a world often marked by division, “Destination Cornwall” stands as a visionary statement—a reminder that unity in diversity is not only possible, but also essential.

Through its events, performances, and community outreach, FIADCSDG highlights how cultural celebration can strengthen social bonds, support small businesses, and boost local tourism.
