Roots Farm & Retreat is located in Newington, just outside of Cornwall, and some of you may have already heard our name floating around. Maybe through a workshop, an event, a conversation, or maybe you have simply been wondering what we are building out here.
At Roots, we are creating a place for people to gather, learn, create, celebrate, and reconnect. Our focus is on community programming, wellness, creativity, land-based learning, and offering spaces where people can come together in meaningful ways.
Two of those spaces are our 40-foot geodesic dome and 22-foot yurt (see yurt interior photo to the right). They are the assembly spaces for our not-for-profit programming, and they are also available to rent for weddings, retreats, workshops, celebrations, and community or creative gatherings. Whether we are hosting our own events or welcoming others to host theirs, these spaces are meant to be used, shared, and filled with life.
This season, we are also bringing more of our own programming to the land. Art & Soul, taking place at Roots on July 18, is one of the offerings we are excited to share, with more events, workshops, and rental information available on our website.
Part of bringing that programming to life is the work I do at Roots. I’m Sheena Ben-David, and I facilitate art therapy-informed workshops for individuals and groups. My work uses creativity not as a performance, but as a way to express, reflect, connect, and make space for what is not always easy to put into words.
That is also what we hope people feel when they come to Roots: a place to slow down, feel welcomed, and connect with themselves, each other, and the land.
We are excited to keep opening the doors, sharing what is growing, and welcoming more of the community in. If you are curious about upcoming events, workshops, rentals, or ways to gather with us, you can find us at rootsfarmretreat.org
