The South Stormont Chamber of Commerce is hosting its first Business Expo on Saturday, February 21st at the Township Hall in Long Sault.
Admission and parking are free. The Chamber says the new event is intended to give residents a clear view of what the local business community has to offer. “Our inaugural 2026 Business Expo is designed to provide the citizens of South Stormont with a showcase of small to large businesses, as well as various service-oriented businesses from our local community.”
What’s different about the Business Expo?
Unlike the travelling trade show of past years, this Expo brings everyone together. “This is our first Business Expo in this format… This event will allow the public to see our businesses and services all under one roof.” South Stormont’s growth is a major reason behind the shift. “With our community’s continued growth, it is crucial that the Chamber… offers an opportunity for new arrivals and long-time members to stay informed about the range of businesses and services available.”
The Expo will host about 32 exhibitors, including retail vendors, real estate agents, crafters, and home improvement professionals, along with some live demonstrations. Vendors will each have a 10’ x 6’ booth, and many will be demonstrating or selling products. According to the Chamber, events like this help build long-term economic strength by attracting visitors, showcasing local talent, and encouraging investment.
“They strengthen the community as a whole.” Admission is free, and businesses pay only a small booth fee to participate. The Chamber adds, “Our goal is to strive to make a mark in our business community; as a group we can do this.”For businesses, the Chamber adds: “The public admission is free, we are charging a nominal fee for vendors to encourage them to attend our inaugural event.”
Part of a Bigger Chamber Strategy While the quotes describe many of the event details, the Chamber’s broader mission ties everything together. They emphasize that “The South Stormont Chamber is actively engaged in promoting the businesses and services of our township. We encourage all local businesses to get involved. Our goal is to strive to make a mark in our business community, as a group we can do this.”
The Expo is one of the ways the Chamber plans to do exactly that—by creating opportunities, strengthening connections, and boosting visibility for South Stormont’s entrepreneurs.
