A pool can be a major selling feature but it isn’t for everyone. Some buyers are hesitant because of the ongoing maintenance, added costs, and potential liability that come with pool ownership. This concern is often less significant with above-ground pools, as they are generally less expensive to maintain and easier to remove if desired.
When it comes to in-ground pools, the buyer pool (no pun intended!) tends to be smaller, as not everyone is looking for that lifestyle. However, for buyers who do want a backyard oasis, an in-ground pool can add tremendous appeal and significantly increase the perceived value of a property.
In short, a pool may attract a more niche group of buyers, but for the right buyer, it can be a standout feature that delivers strong returns.
