Start by choosing the right buyer’s agent. A knowledgeable agent will guide you through each step, advocate for your best interests, and help you stay competitive in a fast-moving market. Once you’re set up on a Realtor search system, review listings as they come in. If a property meets most of your criteria, simply share your availability and the listing you’d like to see.
Some buyers worry about taking up too much of their agent’s time. While considerate, that concern isn’t necessary- managing time and workload is part of the job. Whether it takes three showings or thirty, your agent’s role is to help you refine your preferences and find the right fit.
To make the process more efficient, keep a few things in mind. If you’re unsure about a neighborhood and time allows, do a quick drive-by before booking a showing. For properties you’re only mildly interested in, consider attending an open house and let the hosting agent know you’re already working with a buyer’s agent. If the home surprises you, your agent can arrange a private viewing.
Finally, deeper questions; such as the seller’s motivation, are typically explored after you’ve viewed the home and are considering an offer.
