The Community Fundraising Committee for the Arts & Culture Centre of Cornwall (BE the Link) continues to receive donations for the Arts Centre.
Fundraising chairperson Katie Burke reports that with $54,000 in new donations in 2022 the committee has now raised $1,123,992 for the Arts Centre.
Burke said: “The fundraising team is grateful for the support it has received from the arts community, local residents, foundations, businesses, service clubs, and various organizations even during the pandemic in the past two years. In the pandemic and post-pandemic, we need the Arts & Culture Centre and its programming more than ever for our mental health and well-being.”
More funding will be coming in late March from the Centre for the Arts Collective yard sale taking place at 159 Pitt St. on Saturday March 26 starting at 9:00 a.m. The ACFO-SDG Gala Juste Pour Rire at Aultsville Theatre on March 26 at 8 p.m. will also raise funds for the Arts Centre.
The fundraising committee continues contacting potential donors who have expressed interest in supporting the Arts Centre and is following up on applications to foundations.
Burke stated: “The Arts & Culture Centre is the missing link that will make our city a full-service, all-amenities community. The flexible Arts and Culture Centre with a performance venue and exhibition space for artists will support the arts; improve the quality of life in Cornwall and bring people together. It will also help revitalize downtown Cornwall; promote tourism; and attract new businesses and employment.”
