Bring out the tissue

4:00 AM seems to be the time where my household awakens. I woke up feeling feverish, but the thermometer didn’t register anything. I went to the kitchen, to find Josh and Ezekiel up making hot chocolate and tea. I made myself a green tea, grabbed a tea biscuit since I was hungry, then went back to my room. Before turning in for the rest of the night, I quickly went upstairs, thermometer in hand, to check on Mateo and Trinity. All good. I slept till 9:30 and woke up when John brought me a coffee.

I slept well. However, once I got up, it’s like someone opened the tap! I haven’t stopped blowing my nose since. And coughing. It feels like a really bad cold. My right ear is blocked. I got the yeti pot out to try and relieve some pressure and took several hot baths–I know, not recommended–but they make me feel better. At least, the body aches are gone, but my eyes are constantly tearing up. I didn’t think all this congestion was that much of a thing with Covid.

The kids, except for Trinity, are all feeling like crap too. Josh and Ezekiel, like me, are stuffed up. Mateo is trailing behind all of us with a very bad sore throat. (Think Day 0). John, who felt better yesterday, got back to having severe leg pains. Josh, who seemed better at 4:30 in the morning, got hit with another wave later in the day.

This thing is really weird that way. You get to feeling better and think you’re over the hump only to get hit with another set of sypmtoms.

Today is definitely the worst day yet. I hope we’ve hit rock bottom and that tomorrow will be a better day…
