Cornwall Ontario – The River Kings have inked a trio of players to kick off summer.

General manager Rick Lalonde has signed forwards Lou Dickenson, David Croteau and Mitchell Porowski.

Dickenson was drafted by the River Kings in the first round, 8th overall, in last week’s LNAH draft.

The 6-foot-2, 194 lb. winger had 63 points (25 goals, 38 assists) in 61 games last season with the Dundee Stars of the Elite Ice Hockey League in the United Kingdom.

“I look forward to helping this team improve and surprising many teams next season,” said Dickenson.

During his lengthy pro career, the 33-year-old from Orleans has had pro stops in the AHL, ECHL, CHL and overseas in Slovenia, Italy, Norway and Denmark.

“I am excited about playing hockey close to home where my family and friends can come watch me play,” said Dickenson. “I have been playing pro hockey for 12 seasons now away from home and to get a chance to come home and integrate my family with the Canadian lifestyle – playing hockey is pretty special.”

Croteau, 32, appeared in 31 games with the River Kings last season after eight seasons overseas in France.

The smooth-skating centre had 24 points (13 goals and 11 assists) in 31 games.

Porowoski is a free-agent signing by Lalonde. He is a Bellevue, ON, native who has played the last three seasons at Carleton University.

The 6-foot-4, 212 lb. winger has also played in the OHL and QMJHL. Porowski scored 67 points (34 goals, 33 assists) and added 66 penalty minutes in 70 career CIS games.
