Cornwall Ontario – Cornwall-born barbecue enthusiast, Mat Drouin, is making another run in the Meat Madness Grilling Tournament, hosted by Traeger Wood Fired Grills.  This is Drouin’s second consecutive year in the tournament; an online recipe contest that parallels the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament format.

Drouin (also known as Drew or BBQwithDREW) is 1 of 128 qualifiers into the tournament with competitors from all across North America, not to mention one of the only Canadians.  On Sunday March 19th , Drouin advanced to the Sweet 16 round and hopes to continue with the momentum and take home a Meat Madness championship.

Drouin created his “Maple Madness Side Ribs” recipe, sticking with his maple theme from last year, using 100% Canadian maple syrup and 100% Canadian pure maple sugar as his focus on a wood-fired grill.
