Meals on Wheels celebrating anniversary with discount

For nearly 50 years, Meals on Wheels has provided healthy, affordable meals to seniors in Cornwall.

Now, the program is being made even more accessible thanks to an anniversary promotion. Weekly meals are on sale for $32.50 a week until the end of 2020.

“There’s never been a better time to try out hot, nutritious, and convenient meals,” said Andree-Anne Morin, program coordinator.

Meals include an entrée, soup, salad, and dessert, and can be provided minced or pureed, or altered to accommodate a diabetic diet.

Meals on Wheels are designed for elderly residents, persons with disabilities, persons who are chronically ill, and persons who are convalescing.

“Our friendly volunteers deliver meals five days a week,” said Morin. “Residents receive more than a meal – they also get a bright smile and kind greetings.”
