Hello there to the month of May, and to all of you that have decided to pick up the most Positive and most Informative magazine in the Cornwall and the S.D.& G. area. May you all get to enjoy the beauty that this lovely season of Spring brings to us, ever year. I love seeing the return of the different migrant birds from down South and I am totally enjoying the loveliness of all of the rainbowic colours of flowers that are opening up to show off their pretty blooms, as well. I love all of the different hues of green on the many bushes, trees, and shrubs that are all around us. Even the fresh smell of earth excites my senses at this time of year. May you all get out and about as much as possible to witness and to enjoy all of these different sights and smells of Spring.

Because of what I have gone through with my dear Johnny going through radiation and chemo treatments for 7 weeks, it has made me realize how delicate and precious life really is. One day we are happy and healthy, the next sad and not so healthy. In LIFE we Fall and we Rise, we make Mistakes, we Live and we Learn. We are HUMAN, after all, not at all Perfect. (Thank Goodness for that.) In our lives we have been hurt in many different ways, but we are still Alive to Live and to Enjoy another day. Please just STOP to think a moment on how it is such a “Precious Privilege” to Breathe, to Think, to Enjoy Life, and be able to chase the many things that we all love. Sometimes there is Sadness and Grief along our journey, but there is also so much Joy and Happiness as well. We must continue to keep putting one foot in front of the other, even when it hurts. For we shall never know what is waiting for us just around the corner. Please Take That Next Step.. Into Living a Healthier and a Much Happier and Positive Life.

Tip Of The Month: LIFE is like a Camera. Just FOCUS on what is Important. CAPTURE the “Good & Fun Times”, DEVELOP from the NEGATIVES AND If things don’t work out the way that you wanted them to… JUST TAKE ANOTHER SHOT! EASY SMEASY! RIGHT?

Steal Of A Deal Of The Month: Whilst shopping at Value Village for some much needed smaller clothes for Johnny last month. I came across this item that is mot only usable for this time of year, but nice to look at, too. I spotted it from three aisles away. I knew that familiar design.. It was what I thought it was. A famous designer, Louis Vuitton umbrella for the awesome price of $2.99! I just happen to have the matching purse at home that was given to me from my 3rd daughter, Ella Rose over 25 years ago.

Family News: Well, I have some exciting news to share with you all this month. Both of my youngest daughters, Ella Rose and Victoria are going to have babies in the next 6 months. As well as my eldest grand daughter, Abigail. This is Abigail’s first, Ella Rose’s 2nd child and Victoria’s first. I am so excited to meet grandbabies #’s 11 and 12 and great-grandbaby #2. I do hope and wish that one of them will be a daughter.. As there are only 2 of them compared to having 8 grandsons. I already have a great-grandson, Wilder. So, it would be rather nice to have a great granddaughter, too.

Fun Facts: MAY is named for the Roman Goddess of Fertility, Maia. She oversaw the growth of all of the flora and fauna. May’s birthstone is the (dark green) emerald which symbolizes both, Love and Success. May’s flower is the pretty, little Lily of the Valley. The Romans called the month “Maius”, but the name changed over the years to May. It was in the 1400s near the end of the Middle Ages when it was first called “May.” In Chinese (Mandarin) it is wuyuè. In Danish = maj, French= mai, Italian = maggio, in Latin = Maius and in Spanish = mayo. “National Smile Month” is celebrated in May by all of the United Kingdom. I will perhaps adopt May as my Smile Month, too. Smile.. You Know You Want To.

Community News: Allan McGimpsey (of Bicycle World) and his partner, Mike Crowder are bringing something rather cool to Cornwall in the month of May. It is called Water Front Tours (electric pedicabs) and it is a New and Relaxing way to see Cornwall’s historical and gorgeous waterfront, as well as the downtown area. There will be inclusive “Dinner Tours” added in the near future for your romantic dates, birthdays, anniversaries or even for just a Joy Ride. Please check out www.Waterfronttours.ca OR Call Allan or Mike @ 613-662-0878 to secure a spot for you and your loved ones this month or next. Oh, Johnny Tis Time For Us To Ride On The ~Waterfront Tours with Al. Here’s To Happy Pedicabbing.

I would like to wish all of the Mothers, Stepmothers, Mothers- in-law and adopted Mothers A VERY HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY on May 9th this year. May you all have a most relaxing and fun filled day being ever so spoiled and wildly loved. Speaking about Mother’s Day – Anna Jarvis came up with a Mother’s Day celebration as a way of honoring the many sacrifices that Mothers make for their children. She did this following her Mother’s death in 1905. Anna’s persistence paid off because in 1914 President Woodrow Wilson signed a declaration officially establishing the 2nd Sunday in May as Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is an occasion which is celebrated in many parts of the world to express love, respect and honor towards all of our Mothers. It is a day which makes us remember the importance and significance of Mothers in our lives and it is observed as a day to give “Special Emphasis” to the “Motherly Figures” around the world.

Until Next Month: STOP saving up to wear those Special clothes, shoes or fancy boots” for “Special Occasions”.. Please wear them whenever you possibly can.. Like I do.. Because Being ALIVE Is A “Special Occasion” These Days. Please Pay It Forward In Some Small Way, It Will Certainly Make You Have A Better & More Positive Kind Of Day.
