Fashionably Marlene – May 2025

Welcome to SPRING and to this New Month of May, Everyone. May it be filled with lots of Laughter, Joy and Happiness especially now that we can enjoy the warmer and sunnier days of May! This is the month that brings forth flowers (after April’s showers, sleet and ice pellets).. and all the other living things and creatures who have endured a long Winter this year.

I have chosen to talk about HAIR & HATS this month! In which they have a lot to do with Fashion. They set the style of what your “Fashion Look” may be. At the beginning of Spring I like to change up my hair-colour and style to start off the New Season with some “Hair Flare.” One way to do achieve this.. (if you or someone else you know is experienced enough to do so) is to buy a good quality hair dye. “L’Oreal Preference” is my go-to for costing less than $20.00!It does a really nice job of not only colouring the hair but leaving it looking so healthy and shiny for weeks and weeks. But, if you do have extra money to get your hair coloured or cut at a Salon, then do so. It is a lovely way of giving ourselves a “Self-Care/Hair Day” because You/ We deserve to do this from time to time.

This Spring I decided to do something completely different with my hair.. I love to be unique and look different. (You all should know this of me by now.) I have always wanted to have long, luscious hair and I have been trying my best to achieve this wish. So, I have had that chance to have it done at an affordable price, right here in Cornwall. There is a New Salon ~Afro Bella Hair~ on Montreal Rd. that can help you have all of your Hair Dreams Come True, Too! They are having their Opening Specials not for just one month, but for the next 4 months, as well. Please check them out Ladies and Gentlemen.. You won’t be disappointed with the care they take of your pretty or handsome hair!

Now for HATS, HATS, HATS!They are my favorite topping (literally) to any one of my Fashionable Ensembles! HATS are like the cherry atop a ice-cream sundae. I feel it adds just that little bit extra to any look that we may choose to wear. Whether it be for casual look or for dressing up formal or fancy.. There is a HAT that will top it all off! HATS are not just for fashion-wear.. they are very important to wear during the Hot Spring/Summer weather to keep the harmful UV rays off of our faces and heads.

I like to buy my HATS from different thrift stores wherever I go. That way I have many choices to choose from at affordable prices. I choose the style first then the colour. Until Next Month.. Keep STYLIN’ & SMILIN’!
Sincerely, Fashionably Marlene
