Formed in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Wide Mouth Mason comprises the talented duo of Shaun Verreault on lead vocals and guitar, and Safwan Javed on percussion and backing vocals. The band has captivated audiences with their distinctive sound and soulful performances, earning a dedicated following over the years.

Known for their hits like “Midnight Rain,” “My Old Self,” and “This Mourning,” Wide Mouth Mason has carved a niche for themselves in the Canadian music scene. Their unique blend of blues, rock, and soul has garnered critical acclaim and secured them a nomination for Best New Group at the prestigious Juno Awards in 1998.

“These guys were undoubtedly one of the top bands to emerge from Canada during the late 90s and early 2000s. Their hit songs were constantly playing on the radio, and I would always crank up the volume whenever their music came on. I distinctly remember their Juno nominations and how they dominated the music scene in the prairies with their exceptional talent and innovative songwriting, which seamlessly blended blues and jazz influences,” said musician Eric Willison who will also be playing Cornwall Canada Day along with his daughter Grace. “Having these incredibly talented and creative musicians perform in our town is a true privilege,” Willison continued.

The Canada Day celebrations at Lamoureux Park will kick off with the Opening Ceremonies at noon, followed by a stellar lineup of local and regional artists. The O’Neils will take the stage at 12:15 pm. Grace & Eric Willison will follow at 1:30 pm. The Parliament of Owls will then enchant the crowd at 2:15 pm, leading into a performance by The Country Lads at 3:15 pm.

Big Mute will take the stage at 4:35 pm, followed by the electrifying sounds of Escape the Population at 5:55 pm. The Chesterfields will continue the musical journey at 7:15 pm, paving the way for the much-anticipated headline act, Wide Mouth Mason, who will command the stage at 8:45 pm, captivating the audience with their signature sound and irresistible energy.

In addition to the musical festivities, attendees can partake in various activities suitable for all ages in the Kid Zone from 12 pm to 5 pm. From face painting to games and interactive exhibits, there will be no shortage of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. The Optimist Pancake Breakfast, running from 10:30 am to 12 pm, will provide a delightful start to the day, while the Optimist Beer tent will keep the festivities going from noon until 11 pm.

The highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the breathtaking fireworks display, scheduled to light up the night sky at 10 pm. The explosive extravaganza will serve as a fitting finale to a day filled with music, fun, and community spirit.
