Neither snow, nor sleet, nor freezing temperatures could stop the launch of Jeremy Rose’s campaign as the NDP candidate for Stormont–Dundas–South Glengarry. About 30 determined supporters gathered despite the harsh weather, proving that passion for change outweighs the elements.
The event, held at the Benson Centre, was a testament to the urgency people feel about the issues facing the riding. Attendees took the opportunity to ask Rose about healthcare, education, and other pressing concerns. One particularly emotional moment came when a member of the LGBTQ2+ community spoke up, expressing deep fear about the current state of affairs. With a voice shaking with emotion, they pleaded, “Protect us.”

Rose, is committed to be your voice at Queen’s Park and to speak for all citizens of SDSG. He emphasized that healthcare should be accessible and properly funded, that education must be strengthened, and that everyone—regardless of background, identity, or income—deserves to feel safe and supported.
As the campaign moves forward, Rose and his team are focused on reaching voters, having real conversations, and offering a progressive vision for SD&G. The storm may have made for a challenging start, but if anything, it only highlighted the dedication of those who believe change is possible.
