Let’s take a break from all the Election News and read something much lighter …

This morning a Locals in the Loupe interview was posted with Chef Amelia Mireille, Pientist of Skinny Birch Pie Co. and this afternoon we received this poem from someone who had seen the February Seeker front cover, drove out to Alexandria, purchased some pies and woke up this morning with this poem in his head … definitely too good not to post …so here goes …

Experts Warn Cornwall Crowd: Ontario’s Health System Is Quietly Being Hollowed Out

A lady was met, one Saturday noon,

At a shop so small, so quaint,

With stored delights in large chest freezers,

Lovingly made, each one,

With all natural products, earth fresh,

With instructions on how to care,

Resulting in aroma, and tastes to delight,

Savoury sensations, tastebuds alight,

A master, with a calling to bake,

Love, passion and quality in each bite,

I bow in respect and hope for another encounter,

With Amelia whose pies are the best!

In the above photo you can see Chef Amelia Mireille with her beloved labradoodle pup named Chef, who never leaves her side…

Who knows, you might feel the urge to drive out to Alexandria, pick up some pies and send us a poem…Our email is: [email protected]
