Nominations Now Open for the 37th Annual Business Excellence Awards and 53rd Citizen of the Year Award

[Cornwall, ON – April 1,  2025] The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 37th Annual Business Excellence Awards and the 53rd Citizen of the Year Award. These prestigious awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of local businesses and individuals to the community and will culminate in a memorable ceremony on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Ramada by Wyndham in Cornwall.

For over three decades, the Business Excellence Awards have been the cornerstone of Cornwall’s recognition program, honoring local businesses that demonstrate exceptional growth, leadership, and innovation. The Citizen of the Year Award, which has been presented since 1972, acknowledges individuals who have made an extraordinary impact on the community through their service and dedication.

These awards shine a light on the people and businesses that play a vital role in making Cornwall an exceptional place to live and work. The 2025 ceremony will bring together businesses, community leaders, and residents for a night of celebration and recognition.

The 2025 Business Excellence Awards will feature the following categories:

  • New Business of the Year
  • Tourism Excellence
  • Inclusion and Diversity Award
  • Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Small to Medium Business
  • Community Impact Award
  • Young Professional Award
  • Environmental Impact Award
  • Large Business Award
  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Citizen of the Year Award.

These categories celebrate excellence in a variety of sectors, from entrepreneurship and tourism to environmental sustainability and community impact.

Nominations for the 2024 awards will officially open on April 1, 2025, and will close on June 13, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The Chamber of Commerce encourages businesses, community members, and organizations to nominate those who have made outstanding contributions to the Cornwall region.

This is an excellent opportunity to recognize the incredible work of individuals and businesses that have gone above and beyond to improve our community.

The highly anticipated Business Excellence Awards and Citizen of the Year Award ceremony will take place on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Ramada by Wyndham in Cornwall. The evening promises to be a special occasion, celebrating the remarkable achievements of businesses and individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact on the community. “We are thrilled to welcome back the Business Excellence Awards!
