The City of Cornwall is dedicated to providing critical support to evacuees from Sandy Lake First Nation. As of last night, a total of 377 evacuees arrived at the Dev Centre. The Canadian Red Cross remains fully deployed on-site, leading the coordination of logistics, daily operations, and registration. The City of Cornwall is working closely with the Red Cross to develop a plan for childcare assistance and activities for the children.

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit and Cornwall SDG Paramedics continue to work on-site to ensure evacuees have their medical needs met and receive their necessary medications. Medical support includes health assessments, medication management, and addressing any immediate health concerns. Paramedics are available to provide emergency medical care and support as needed.
