Whether you live or study in New York City, you need to take a break from your routine to experience the freshness of life and enjoy it. However, you have to be careful about the choice of destination and travel expenses, especially if you are a student. You want to explore other places but without spending much. Considering all this, a city like Syracuse can be worth including in your holiday list. This small city in New York is about 250 miles away from New York City. If you take a bus from NYC, you can reach it in four to five hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions.

The ticket booking platform from which you book your seat for the NYC to Syracuse bus can make your fare more affordable with its special offers and discounts. Some even provide supersaver plans. These programs can save a substantial amount of money on multiple trips over time, making them worth considering. Onboard facilities are excellent as well. Free Wi-Fi, charging outlets, bottled water, and cozy chairs can be expected. Those who choose a window seat can enjoy more privacy. Aisle seats, on the other hand, allow freedom of movement. It’s up to you to select your seating arrangement. As soon as you settle, you can entirely focus on the road and the beautiful outdoor views. When you reach your destination, you can go to some unusual but exciting sightseeing spots.

  • Sports

You can witness the city’s local sports culture by visiting the Carrier Dome, a spacious stadium where thousands of spectators can be accommodated at once. The dome is part of Syracuse University’s campus. Lacrosse, basketball, and football teams play here. From the stands, you can cheer for your favorite player and soak in the electric energy of the atmosphere. You will also get food and drinks. Sometimes, this venue also organizes concerts and professional or amateur leagues.

  • Food

Like New York City, Syracuse’s food scene is also vast and tempting. There is something for everyone. If you want to eat healthy, you can find an eatery that serves a delicious bowl of Sriracha Ginger Tofu. You can head to Marshall Street for smoothies, salads, and sandwiches. If you are a vegan, you cannot miss these. Some coffee shops offer amazing oat milk lattes. In comfort food, you can try Syracuse staple spicy tomato oil with bread. It’s very affordable. Water Street can be explored for sweet treats, including homemade ice cream and toasted marshmallows.

  • Nightlife

Visit the lavish Landmark Theater, which was first opened in 1928. At that time, men arrived in tuxedos while ladies flaunted gowns and gloves. You can be mesmerized by the murals and architectural designs here. At the same time, it’s a great site to watch concerts, comedy plays, and more. Or, you can also go to one of the breweries to taste craft beers.

The city offers enough opportunities for budget travelers to make the most of their visit. When you are done with your mini-vacation, you can come back to NYC by bus. Again, the journey will be affordable and fantastic. You can take a nap on the bus, so those four to five hours fly by.
