Hey everyone, it’s that time of year again—school is back in session!
Here are a few tips I’ve put together that might help you start the year off strong.
1. Stay out of drama.
This one’s huge. If you hear people talking badly about others, remove yourself from the conversation or switch the subject. Being known as someone who stirs the pot isn’t worth it. If your goal is to be an “academic weapon” this year, don’t ruin that by gaining a reputation for gossip—it’ll hurt you with both teachers and classmates.
2. Focus on your future, but don’t burn out.
If you already have a career path in mind, great! Pursue it through classes, clubs, or sports—but pace yourself. Choose the courses that will benefit you not only academically but personally. Keep your long-term goals in mind and prioritize the subjects that will help you get there. And remember: study smart. Use different strategies like memorization, note-taking, or even teaching the material to someone else.
3. Take care of your mental health.
School can be overwhelming, so make time to recharge. Limit your screen time and try hobbies that help you relax, like sewing, crocheting, or even journaling. Don’t forget to carve out moments just for yourself —socializing all day can be exhausting, and downtime is important for keeping your mind clear and calm.
I hope you’re all settling into school and working hard toward your goals. You’ve got this! Thanks for reading.
