Cornwall’s favourite brain-busting tradition was back in full force this week as the Cornwall Sunrise Rotary Club hosted its annual Cornwall Sunrise Trivia Night, drawing a packed house, a lively crowd, and some impressively competitive teams.

The event delivered everything people love about Rotary trivia nights — tough questions, lots of laughs, and a friendly rivalry that stretched right to the very last category.

Top Teams Take the Spotlight

Based on the final scoreboard:

Sunrise Rotary Trivia Night

🥇 1st Place — “Our Drinking Team Has a Trivia Problem” — 968 points
A strong performance across almost every category pushed them into a comfortable lead and earned them this year’s championship.

🥈 2nd Place — “Blah Patrol” — 937 points
A consistent run kept them near the top all night, finishing with only a narrow gap behind first place.

🥉 3rd Place — “4 Duck Snakes” — 911 points
Their accuracy in several mid-game rounds gave them the cushion they needed to secure third spot.

The full scoreboard showed tight margins among the top contenders, proof of just how sharp and well-prepared the teams were this year.

Masters of Ceremonies

Adding to the energy of the night, a dynamic hosting duo — Paul Aubin and Cameron McPhee — led the proceedings. Paul and Cameron kept the pace snappy, the laughs flowing, and the tension high as teams battled through 150 new and recycled trivia questions across 10 categories and an extra set of 50 marathon questions. Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise Their rapport, witty commentary and seamless transitions ensured that both seasoned trivia teams and first-timers felt welcome and engaged.

Community Leaders in Attendance

The evening also welcomed Cornwall Mayor Justin Towndale, who joined participants and organizers in supporting the Rotary Club’s community service work. His presence added an extra boost of encouragement and highlighted how valued these Rotary events are in Cornwall’s civic and community life.

A Night of Fun With Purpose

According to the event announcement on the Cornwall Sunrise Rotary website, Trivia Night remains one of the club’s most popular fundraisers — helping support local projects and international initiatives that improve health, education, and quality of life.

Guests enjoyed:

  • A high-energy competition with 10 themed categories
  • A mix of challenging and entertaining questions
  • A great social atmosphere with friends, coworkers, and community members coming together

Funds raised help the club continue its mission of “Service Above Self,” including programs like youth leadership development, literacy, environmental work, and global humanitarian efforts.
