Willy Wonka Jr

The Seaway Valley Theatre Company invites you to their twentieth anniversary season’s children’s musical, “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR.”

The enigmatic candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka, stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of chocolate. Four of the five winning children are ill-behaved, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour with his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film and a host of fun new songs, this scrumdidilyumptious musical is a captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale, guaranteed to delight everyone’s sweet tooth.

The cast features a wide array of Cornwall and area’s finest young performers, all of whom are more than ready to sing and dance their hearts out for you. Marking his sixth time in the director’s chair is longtime SVTC stalwart, Corey Disotell. Kiana Seitz and Dana Power both make their SVTC choreographing debut with the production. Producing the show are Josée Julien and Bernadette Piché-Proulx, assisted by their apprentice, Wade Wilson. And making a welcome return as the vocal director is Stephanie St. Louis.
