Christmas festivities

On December 20th, I took in the Christmas festivities in the Downtown BIA. At Cornwall Square, I caught part of the Youth Choir Holiday Performance from the Seaway Valley Music Academy with Katie Smith aka Ditschun at the piano, Keegan Larose working on sound in the background, and Kayla Froats directing.

As I walked out onto Pitt Street, I ran into Cindy Lou Who and the Grinch, who didn’t seem very mean today at all. They were collecting donations for the Boys and Girls Club. (It does sound like the Grinch might be trying to redeem himself.) They told me to keep an eye out for Elsa and Anna who were out and about too, but try as I might, I never did locate them.

I headed over to Carrots ‘N Dates where Virginia Louise Dipierro, Cameron McPhee, and Jill Underwood were entertaining the guests with cheerful holiday tunes while crafters made their Christmassy creations in the background. There is always something interesting happening there.

And Santa, he was simply everywhere! First, I chased him down the street and yelled out “You walk too fast, Santa!” (I really did. You ask him when you see him.) When he heard me he stopped long enough for me to take a photo of him in front of Pommier Square. No sooner had I left him, than I saw him again in the Tickle Your Fancy Gift Shop, but this time he was with Mrs. Claus and Ruby Rose. After stopping in at Happy Popcorn (because who doesn’t love popcorn), would you believe I met Santa and Mrs. Claus again? There is only one explanation. It’s the magic of Christmas and today it was on Pitt Street. You had to be there.
