Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 16, 2025, and charged with the following:

It is alleged on Oct. 24, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not attend a specific business in the City of Cornwall. It is further alleged on this date, the woman attended the Ninth Street West business she was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the woman’s arrest.

On Dec. 16, 2025, Cornwall Police Service officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of First Street West and Augustus Street, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, she allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test.

The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 13, 2026. 

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 16, 2025, and charged with impaired operation and over 80. On Dec. 16, 2025, CPS officers were dispatched to investigate a motor vehicle collision and possible impaired incident. The woman was located by police and the investigation revealed she was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 13, 2026.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old woman from Alexandria was arrested on Dec. 17, 2025, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged in the early morning hours of Dec. 17, 2025, the woman assaulted her spouse. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. She was later released to appear in court on Jan. 6, 2026.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 51 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the last 24 hours (8 a.m. yesterday to 8 a.m. today).
