FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 9, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Jan. 9, 2026, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not communicate with her ex-boyfriend and to not be within 100 metres of any place she knows him to live, work or frequent. During a traffic stop, a Ministry of Transportation of Ontario officer observed a breach of these conditions and contacted the Cornwall Police Service. An investigation confirmed the woman was in contact with her ex-boyfriend. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 10, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and assault with a weapon. It is alleged on Jan. 4, 2026, the woman assaulted an individual known to her with a bat. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On Jan. 10, 2026, the woman was located by CPS officers, who were on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 10, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 30, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest, on the charge of fail to attend for court as per undertaking. On Jan. 10, 2026, police responded to an unwanted person complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located by a member of the CPS. The warrant was executed and he was subsequently released to appear in court on Feb. 10, 2026.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 27-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 11. 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 30, 2025, the woman was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for her arrest, on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting. On Jan. 11, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed and she was held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 11, 2026, and charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of mischief – destroys or damages property. On Jan. 11, 2026, police were dispatched to an intimate partner violence complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the man assaulted his girlfriend multiple times and damaged her phone. He was subsequently located by a CPS officer. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT WITH WEAPON

Cornwall, ON – A 71-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 11, 2026, and charged with domestic assault with a weapon. It is alleged on Jan. 10, 2026, the woman assaulted her husband with a household object. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for her arrest. On Jan. 11, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

FAIL TO COMPLY, SHOPLIFTING

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 11, 2026, and charged with fail to comply with probation order and theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Jan. 11, 2026, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to not attend a specific Second Street East business. It is also alleged on this date, the man attended the Second Street East business he was prohibited from visiting, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 12, 2026, and charged with the following:

  • Four counts of fail to comply with release order
  • Two counts of fail to comply with undertaking
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Domestic assault

In the early morning hours of Jan. 12, 2026, police responded to a suspicious person complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Jan. 12, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to not associate or communicate in any way with his spouse or his father, to not be within 100 metres of any place he knows his spouse or his father to live, work or happen to be and to not attend a specific address. He was also bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not communicate with his spouse and to not go anywhere she is known to live or work, as well as a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged on Jan. 12, 2026, the man assaulted his spouse and was in communication with both his spouse and his father. The man was located by CPS officers. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
