On Saturday, September 13th, I spent several hours at Culturefest in Lamoureux Park and could easily have spent several more. There was so much to see! It was obvious that the organizers worked hard in creating this spectacular celebration of cultural diversity.
Today was a day for tasting international food and visiting booths offering everything from henna tattoos and names written in Japanese to clothing, jewellery, and artwork. It was an opportunity to be exposed to different traditions and truly appreciate how richly diverse our region has become.
The entertainment shone a spotlight on colourful traditional clothing and diverse music genres. And the smiles! They were everywhere.
