Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 23, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. On Jan. 22, 2026, members of the Cornwall Police Service were dispatched to an intimate partner violence and bail violation complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Jan. 22, 2026, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to remain in his residence at all times with the exception of traveling directly to and from work or if he is in the presence of his surety. It is further alleged the man breached the conditions of his release order and as a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest on the charges of two counts of fail to comply with release order. On Jan. 23, 2026, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 23, 2026, and charged with assault with a weapon and assault. It is alleged on Aug. 5, 2025, the man assaulted one youth with an edged weapon and assaulted a second youth. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. On Jan. 23, 2026, the man was located by police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 3, 2026.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 23, 2026, and charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting. It is alleged on Oct. 10, 2025, the man attended a Ninth Street West business, selected merchandise and left the store without making an attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted, and an investigation ensued – led by a CPS Community Safety Officer. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the man’s arrest. On Jan. 23, 2026, he was located at the courthouse. The man was placed under arrest, charged accordingly and returned to cells to await a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND, UTTERING THREATS
Cornwall, ON – A 41-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 23, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged on Aug. 26, 2025, the woman was scheduled to appear in court and failed to do so. As a result, a warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of fail to attend court after having appeared. It is further alleged on Nov. 17, 2025, the woman threatened to kill an individual known to her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, a second warrant was issued for her arrest on the charge of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. On Jan. 23, 2026, the woman was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol in the City of Cornwall. The warrants were executed and she was held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 24, 2026, on the strength of outstanding warrants. It is alleged on Jan. 13, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice. It is further alleged on Jan. 14, 2026, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. A second warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to comply with appearance notice. In the early morning hours of Jan. 24, 2026, police responded to an unwanted person complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located by a CPS officer, and the warrant was subsequently executed. He was held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – A 44-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 24, 2026, and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking. It is alleged on Jan. 23, 2026, the woman was bound by an undertaking with the relevant condition to not be within 100 metres of any place she knows the complainant and her son to live, work, or frequent. It is further alleged the woman attended a Marleau Avenue business, where the complainant and her son were present. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, reasonable and probable grounds were developed for the woman’s arrest. On Jan. 24, 2026, she attended police headquarters to address the matter. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2026.

Cornwall, ON – A 48-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 24, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Oct. 21, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend court after having appeared. On Jan. 24, 2026, the man was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed and he was held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 25, 2026, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged on Dec. 18, 2025, the youth was scheduled to attend court and failed to do so. A warrant was issued for his arrest on the charge of fail to attend court while on release order. On Jan. 25, 2026, the youth was located by a CPS officer, who was on general patrol. The warrant was executed and he was released to appear in court at a later date.
IMPAIRED OPERATION, OVER 80
Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 26, 2026, and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs as well as operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). In the early morning hours of Jan. 26, 2026, CPS officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Tollgate Road and Brookdale Avenue, and an investigation ensued. The investigation revealed the woman was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The woman was later released to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2026.
