Life is filled with full-circle moments and it’s important to reflect on the synergies that not only bring us together but that open doors for you, long before you know you’ll be walking through them.
This new column of mine, dedicated to teaching others how to manifest the life of their dreams, did not fall into my lap accidentally. It is built on a deep foundation of trust and relationships that have grown over the past 13 years.
You may remember my previous Seeker column, The Love Hawk (circa 2013-2015), where I wrote about love and relationships and which came to be after the little blog I had created turned semi-viral and got me featured as a contributor for The Huffington Post, Elite Daily and many other online publications. It also scored me an interview with MTV.
But being included in The Seeker was special. Being recognized in my hometown and seeing my writing in actual newsprint meant so much to me. The Seeker believed in me long before the rest of the world knew who I would become and I have a great deal of gratitude to both Julia and Mai-Liis for being part of my story.
I tell you this because my new Shanifesting column is about more than the woo-woo that so many people believe manifesting is. I tell you this because manifesting is simply planting seeds, of the things you desire, tending to the soil, and trusting that they will grow.
We don’t always know how long the gestation period will take but we must believe that the things we desire, the things that are meant for us will come to be. It’s about rewiring our nervous system so we can build habits and recognize opportunities when they come our way. It’s about knowing when to act but also believing in things we cannot yet see.
My Love Hawk blog was the first time I put myself and my writing out into the world. I was vulnerable and shared parts of me with strangers around the world (and in my own circles) that pushed me out of my comfort zone. Little did I know that so much was awaiting me on the other side of that comfort zone.
I created my Love Hawk blog while working in Sports Marketing but this project forced me to learn how to create my own website, how to market myself as part of my own brand, and how to grow a social media following from scratch. Pairing these hands-on, self-taught skills with what I had learned in university allowed me to eventually start my own Marketing & Events company. It was this company that led me to secure the Cornwall Nationals (the minor professional hockey team that was around from 2016-2018) as a client.
It was my work with the Cornwall Nationals that led my colleague turned Co-Founder, Kris, and I to create FanSaves: an international and award-winning sports tech company that gives fans discounts and deals from sponsors of their favourite sports teams. FanSaves has been my life for nearly nine years now and starting this company completely changed the trajectory of my life.
I tell you this story and my background, not just so you can learn more about me, but because it’s important to show you that everything in this life is intertwined. That the small decisions you make today can greatly impact your life tomorrow and that the tiny seeds you plant can develop into huge, sturdy oak trees with branches that spread far and wide.
My work with FanSaves has allowed me to speak on stages and panels around the world. It has given me the chance to learn from some of the best leaders in business and economics. It has allowed me to travel, meet celebrities, attend incredible events and live a life that I once only dreamed of.
But that’s the key. I dreamed it. I dreamed about this life before I knew what would get me here. I dreamed about things I wanted to do long before FanSaves existed and long before I knew that any of this would be possible. I didn’t know HOW I would live this life I lead today but I knew I would. And that’s the important part.
The truth is, I was great at manifesting long before I knew anything about it or that I was even doing it. I have forever had the belief that everything always works out for me. In recent years though, I dove deep into learning everything I could about manifesting. I have studied, read and been taught by the best teachers so that I could improve even more and truly understand how manifesting works, all the way down to a molecular level.
But what I realized throughout my own journey, is that so many people do not have that same belief system as I do. Many people do not feel worthy of the things they desire, they don’t feel they deserve happiness or abundance or love. And so, I created Shanifesting to help the cynics; those who wish they could manifest but don’t know where to start and don’t know that it all begins with how they feel within.
Since my Love Hawk days, I have not only grown and scaled FanSaves, but I just became a published author as part of an anthology and I am currently working on my own, full-length book. Writing has always been a passion of mine and I am excited to bring this new column to life for you and be back in the saddle, writing again for The Seeker.
I look forward to helping you learn how to manifest your dream life, spot the opportunities, and improve your self-concept so that you too can get everything you’ve ever dreamed of. Today, I encourage you to do one thing that your future self will thank you for. Personally, I’m thanking my old self for starting The Love Hawk all those years ago, so that it could bring me here to you now. That small seed truly grew into an oak tree bigger than I ever imagined.
