Happy August Everyone!
Here is an article that Sharyn wrote back in July 21, 2017. Now, nine years old!
It reminded me of a place in Manotick called The Miller’s Oven and it is a fascinating place. The restaurant is run by Seniors and it is very, very famous for its mile high lemon meringue pie. At the back of the restaurant, you can see them all lined up, ready to be sliced.
It is so wonderful to see humans doing what they love. These Seniors are contributing in a purposeful way to the betterment of their community through this venture.
Recently, our friend Mark Larin stopped in to put up a poster on our Community Board regarding the RARE Events display he has upstairs at the Cornwall Square. He is so happy (and retired) and that spark in his eyes shows the delight he has to be given the opportunity to showcase historical and engaging artifacts that he has been collecting over the years.
Whether you love baking, collecting, or something else, it is wonderful when your passion helps to make the world a better place for all.
Now, have your pie and eat it too!
Happy gardening, baking, or whatever you are up to.
Roxanne
