Book Your 2019 Summer Adventures with the RRCA
From family vacations to school trips, the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) has something for all ages to explore and enjoy our local natural environment.
Online reservations are now being accepted for the 2019 camping season at Charlottenburgh Park located on the St. Lawrence River just 19 km east of Cornwall along County Road 2. Surrounded by trees and wildlife, un-serviced and serviced lots along with a camping cabin offer campers an opportunity to relax and connect with nature. Seasonal campers also enjoy the Park’s serenity all summer-long.
“Charlottenburgh Park is a very popular destination for campers, but also attracts many day-use visitors. The Park features a beach with mature trees, nature trails with interpretive signage, children’s play structure, concession stand, boat launch and docks, gazebo, beach volleyball, and much more,” says RRCA Administrative Assistant, Josianne Sabourin.
A day at Charlottenburgh Park is a fun and educational year-end school trip activity done annually by many local schools. The RRCA provides a discounted Park entry rate to school groups and offers add-on options such as a BBQ lunch and guided hike for an additional fee.
The Cooper Marsh Conservation Area, also located just east of Cornwall along County Road 2, is another popular year-end school trip destination. From frog catching to a guided nature hike, groups can spend the day exploring the Marsh and interpretive Visitors Centre.
The RRCA also manages the Gray’s Creek Marina which comfortably provides 128 boat slips. Located strategically at the mouth of Gray’s Creek, the Marina provides boaters immediate access to the St. Lawrence River. Seasonal, monthly, weekly and daily boat slips are available along with daily and seasonal launching passes. The Marina opens on April 29 this year.
