Preparations for Ribfest 2017 are well under way and the Optimist Club of Cornwall is working hard at creating a memorable event.

Co-chairing the event this year are Terry Muir, known to many as the father of Ribfest, and last year’s Ribfest Chairman, John Lucio. Together, they have an excellent BBQ fun-filled 4-day extravaganza planned out for Lamoureux Park.

The event has a new website and a new logo, which features a new mascot.

“We’re very excited about the new look for 2017.  But our mascot needs a name,” said Muir.  “We thought we’d just ask people, but we know that sometimes, you just need to have an incentive to get the public’s creative juices going,” said Lucio.  “And what better way to inspire than the thought of a wonderfully flagrant rack of BBQ ribs.”

The contest is taking place on Cornwall Ribfest’s Facebook page.  To participate, simply like the page and find the pinned post with this image of our mascot and give it a name in the comments and share the post. A winner will be chosen March 31st and will be awarded TWO RIB DINNERS at the Ribber’s of his / her choice.  If you do not use facebook, you can also email your option to [email protected].

Don’t forget that sponsorship opportunities are available for all budgets.  Visit www.cornwallribfest.com for more info.

Good luck and don’t forget to share!
