Cornwall Colts Liam Lascelle named CCHL goalie of the month

Cornwall Ontario – Cornwall Colts goaltender Liam Lascelle has been named the CCHL goalie of the month for February.

Liam Lascelle backstopped the Colts to a 6-0-2 record in February with a sparkling 2.22 goals against average and an incredible .939 save percentage as the Cornwall Colts surged into 2nd overall in the CCHL.

Liam Lascelle was selected 1st star of the game three times as well as 2nd or 3rd star 5 other times.

The 19 year old Cornwall native finished the CCHL season with 30 wins (3rd overall), a 2.41 goals against average (3rd overall) and a .924 save percentage (2nd overall).

The Colts begin the first round of the CCHL playoffs vs the Smiths Fall Bears. The Bears will finish 7th overall. The CCHL schedule wraps up this Sunday.

Last Thursday The Cornwall Colts wrapped up 2nd overall in the CCHL thanks to a 3-2 victory over the Gloucester Rangers at the Ed Lumley Arena.

Nick Lalonde (32), Dean Derouchie (20) and Grant Cooper (26) scored for the Cornwall Colts. Cornwall record finishes at 41-14-4-3 for 89 points. Tristan Conrad chipped in with two assists.

The Cornwall Colts outshot the Rangers 36-29 with Liam Lascelle making 27 saves for his 30th victory of the season.

The Wendy’s Restaurant Three Stars were First Star Nick Lalonde (COR), Second Star Michael Cullen (GLO) and Third Star Liam Lascelle (COR).
