Studio 101 opened its doors in late 2012 at its downtown location of 101 Pitt Street but it’s owner Louise Gendron’s passion for hair started well over 30 years ago. Over the course of 7 years, the studio has grown. Gendron brought on a small, intimate team to work with and grow the business, with 5 members now working at the Studio 101 location.

This past summer in June, Studio 101 decided it was time for a change. They left 101 Pitt and relocated to 127 Augustus Street, Cornwall. The new location was opened to help incorporate new services such as IPL laser hair removal, IPL skin rejuvenation, body sculpting, Reiki and Naturopathic Doctor Consultations. Aside from new services, Studio 101 still provides its unique and well-known hair salon services with specialists in hair colouring, as well as esthetics.

Studio 101 offers a unique approach to beauty, health and wellness. Gendron explains that “The new location offers a more inviting and luxurious experience to her clients.”

Studio 101 hasn’t only changed locations but they have also started a T-Shirt Friday Initiative. Gendron explains, “On Fridays, we wear other small business t-shirts. We take pictures to post on social media to help promote surrounding businesses. We started this campaign with Cornwall Tourism T-Shirt this summer and it has taken off since.” Gendron welcomes small businesses to drop off their T-Shirts at their new location. She hopes that one day the entire downtown area will be wearing each other’s t-shirts.

“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself,” Louise Gendron (via Coco Chanel). Studio 101 hopes to help women find themselves, all while being proud of where they come from.

Studio 101’s new location is located at 127 Augustus Street in Cornwall and they are available by appointment 7 days a week.
