Getting through a rainy day is not so bad when you are curled up to your favorite pillow, wrapped by your comfy blanket, and watching a rom-com movie on Netflix. But conquering the rain shower while trying to get a ride home or simply getting caught up by the rain while walking is a hassle.

Make your life easier by commuting with products that are designed to keep you and your important valuables dry during heavy rain. You will need more than just a sturdy umbrella to keep you from getting drenched.

Here are some of the best and most practical rain essentials that every person should have:

Backpack

Aside from keeping yourself dry, it is important to keep your important valuables dry as well. A great investment to have during the rainy season are waterproof bags so you can protect your papers, laptop, clothes, and other items from getting wet. A lot of bag companies go for nylon solution and polyester, the combination which makes a bag lightweight and durable. However, if you already made a purchase and don’t want to spend money on another bag, you can buy a nylon cover to wrap your bag to make it waterproof. Remember to look for a water-resistant bag that fits your daily needs that includes a hidden pocket to protect your papers or having a separate compartment to protect your laptop.

Waterproof Pouch

Having a waterproof case is important if you want to protect your smartphones or any gadget from getting wet in the rain. While brands offer the sleekest version around, some people might not prefer a bulky or simple case on their gadgets and bring it all day with them.  Most of the gadgets nowadays are water-resistant, but protection like a waterproof pouch won’t hurt your pocket and gives you an advantage. Companies have made a waterproof pouch that can be used if you caught up in the rain or only if you want it to and they cost below $10 and incredibly useful on days where there is heavy rain. You will still be able to use your touch screen and it’s universal, so it fits all phone sizes. For such an affordable price, it’s a handy tool to keep around during the unpredictable weather.

Plastic Zip Locks

Plastic that has resealable locks are an all-around tool that can be used to keep your valuable items dry or serve as an organizer for your things. Apart from perfect item organizers, these travel must-haves can also act as a cover for your camera, protect your money from getting wet, and even storage for dirty items when traveling. Always be prepared and carry a few zip plastic bags wherever you are going.

There is nothing worse than being caught in the rain unprepared, so it is essential to equip yourself with each of these items as they serve a special purpose during this rainy season. It pays to be prepared especially the weather that we are experiencing nowadays is getting stronger and unpredictable.
