3D printers have also become household commodities

Just a few years ago, 3D printing was a fantasy that existed only in sci-fi movies. However, thanks to the continuous technological advancements we see everyday, this fantasy has not only turned into a reality, but 3D printers have also become household commodities! This has opened the door for arts and crafts lovers to use this innovative equipment to create awe-striking products. Because 3D printing has become something that pretty much anyone can dabble in, why not seize this chance to create something useful? With this technology, there are endless possibilities, and here are 8 of them.

1. Anatomy Models

Medical school is challenging as it is, but old teaching methods can make it even more difficult. Nowadays, students do not have to gaze upon 2D images of organs and imagine how they would look like in real life. Moreover, they do not have to break the bank to acquire 3D anatomy models. If you are a doctor in the making and want to take your study sessions to a whole new level, why not use a 3D printer to create anatomy models? This way, you can keep your grades high and save money at the same time, a win-win!

2. An Earbud/Headphone Wire Detangler

Abusing your earbuds/headphones’ wire is all fun and games until it actually breaks. In fact, tangled wires are one of the leading causes of broken earbuds. You can, however, spare yourself the hassle of buying a new pair by creating your very own 3D detangler. This way, you can store your favorite pair without worrying about wire damage.

3. Miniatures

Are you a fan of tabletop games and wish you could create your own? Well, 3D printing is here to save the day! When looking for the best 3d printer for miniatures, you have two options: FFF models and SLA resin ones. The main difference between the two is the quality of the final product. If you are a stickler for details, you should certainly go for SLA resin printers because they are more accurate, albeit expensive. On the other hand, an FFF model should do the trick if you are looking for cheap equipment.

4. Phone Cases

If you are tired of dropping your expensive phone, why not provide it with some protection and use 3D printing to make a case? Sure, there are millions of ready-made cases you can purchase, but creating your own is much more satisfying. To use a 3D printer to create a phone case, you need to first find the design you like. Then, you can use your computer to send the design to the printer and see your vision become a reality!

5. Keyholders

Searching for your keys everywhere when you are rushing to get to work is never a good way to start your day. If you are in the habit of tossing your keys around, only to forget where you have put them when you are in a hurry, then a 3D keyholder can be your next art and crafts project! Keyholders are also one of the fastest items to print because they are very small, so you have no excuse not to make one now!

6. Bowls

Rummaging your cupboards for a clean bowl grows old pretty quickly. Luckily, PLA, the main material that goes into making the filament 3D printers use, has been deemed safe for creating food utensils. So, instead of looking online for quirky designs, you can choose your own. You can also use the product you end up with for decoration purposes.
