Food delivery apps are a convenient way to get your meals and groceries delivered straight to your home or workplace. The number of apps offering quick pickup services from restaurants has never been more extensive. On top of that, many of them now offer delivery from supermarkets and convenience stores as well. Even considering criteria like availability, additional fees, or geographical limitations, you still have a lot of options. This article lists some of the trendiest food delivery apps you need to try in 2021.

Postmates

Postmates is one of the trendiest online delivery platforms currently available, and for a very good reason. It has an incredibly versatile and organized selection of businesses you can order from, varying from ready meals to groceries and even drinks from a local liquor store. Even though delivery time depends on factors like the specificity of your order and the distance of the establishment you ordered from, it’s still one of the fastest options for curbside pickup or delivery. The app is available for Android and iPhone users and has free delivery options through monthly or annual memberships.

Slice

If you are in the mood for a pizza from your local pizzeria, Slice could definitely be a go-to app for ordering it. Despite having a vast selection of businesses, it only takes a small fee for delivery services. This way, both you and the pizzeria you order from can keep your costs low. The app is available on all mobile platforms. Such platforms provide the restaurants with the ability to keep their information updated constantly. They can set minimum order amounts and keep their pricing constant. Because of this, more and more businesses are deciding to join this platform regularly.

Waitr

One of the best options to connect to your favorite restaurant is via Waitr. This platform offers a very innovative way to select your orders. Apart from the basic services of scrolling through menus and choosing delivery options, the app also allows you to modify your orders and even place a group order. Not only that, you can even split the check within the group or enter a Waitr promo code to get a discount on your bills. Since the platform is built by hospitality professionals who know how much customers appreciate offers like this, they make them available as regularly as they can.

Instacart

If you love to cook your own meals but prefer to have the convenience of getting the ingredients to your home, Instacart can help you stock your pantry in no time. The best thing about this platform is that it even has specialty stores and pharmacies available. Regardless of the size of your grocery list, or your distance from the store of your choice, you can have the necessities delivered in less than an hour. Alternatively, if you just want to save time on browsing the aisles in the store, you can arrange for a pickup as well.

Grubhub

Without a doubt, Grubhub has the most extensive selection of establishments, all of which are available for both delivery and takeout. In addition, catering can be arranged for larger orders and scheduled up to two weeks in advance. You can browse through the platform and select the restaurant you want to try according to the type of cuisine or delivery time. The fees are determined by each place. You can even check the customer review and rating for each establishment, so you can be sure you made the right choice.

ChowNow

ChowNow is another platform that supports local establishments and helps their owners connect with customers in small communities.  Unlike many others, this app is entirely commission-fee based, so the restaurants can offer less expensive delivery or pickup. The minimum order amount depends on each establishment, but they usually aren’t too high either. This is another factor that makes this one of the more budget-friendly options available. Plus, it’s available for both iPhone and Android users, so you won’t have to worry about technical limitations either.

Which one of these apps you choose could depend on several factors. For example, you may choose to support local businesses – and some cities will have more available options for this than others. Whether you want ready-made food or some fresh groceries to whip up a meal yourself will also determine which app suits your needs the best. Most platforms charge delivery or other fees. So, if you want to use this option regularly, you may want to opt for one that offers a subscription which will save you a lot of money.
