Fashionably Marlene – Welcome to 2023 One and All.

WELCOME TO 2023 ONE & ALL, I hope you had an enjoyable and FUN-filled Holiday with your families and friends. I Sure Did! This year I am looking forward to helping you with some “Fashion Ideas and Tips” to make you look and feel more positive about yourselves. Even when I am feeling sick, I will do my makeup and dress up in something that makes me look good on the outside, even though I feel horrible on the inside. It is the first step I take on the road to my recovery.

This month I have chosen some things from ~The Village~ that makes me feel good and sophisticated. I like the colour purple, so I picked up a pair of velvet/leather, high-heeled shoes for $14.99, along with a sequined purple dress for $12.99. This is one of the tips that I suggest that you do whilst you go in looking for something in the colour that you like. I also look for clothing without zippers to make it an easier and more comfortable fit. I like to choose “complete outfits” on the same day, so I can get the perfect colour match and accessories. The next thing you do is, of course, try the items on. If they fit and they make you feel good, look pretty or sophisticated or sporty.. Go ahead and purchase your items. You may have to try your items on at home.I f this is the case.. NO BIGGIE.. You have 2 weeks to return your items along with the receipt. You can also bring in items that you already have to colour match it or to choose accessories… like shoes, purses, hats etc.

The “Fashion Trends” for 2023 are to wear wide-legged pants, BIG sweaters in different layers, BIG coats (some in faux fur with large collars and sleeves), tailored suits. Hooded tops are in along with shiny and leather clothing, and dresses/skirts with multi-tiered & ruffled hems are all in fashion this year. Everything this season looks to be very comfortable and roomy for all sizes and shapes of bodies. The colours for this year’s Fall/Winter season are mostly in earth tones (browns and tans), but also HOT PINK is thrown in to brighten up our wardrobes. The footwear that is HOT for 2023 are combat boots, clogs, wedges, sneakers, rubber boots, cowboy boots, thigh-high boots, and the classic, pointy-toe shoe/boot with medium height heels are all in to fit your fashion feet.

I myself don’t really follow these trends per se, but I do take some of the ideas to go along with what I like to wear. Fashion Is Fickle! These trends come and go so quickly and are usually more expensive and harder to find. I just wait 6 months or so, if I do like something I can then get it at a fraction of the price from the thrift stores.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.. MAY 2023 BE A YEAR WORTH REMEMBERING WITH YOUR LOVING FAMILIES & FRIENDS!

Join The Seeker Chicks on “Monday Morning Motivation with The Seeker Chicks” at 10am every second Monday of the month when Marlene joins us to show off her “One of a Kind Thrift Store Find”.
