Cornwall Square has a new Saturday morning attraction, and it’s not your typical shopping experience. Arks Harvest, a not-for-profit food-sharing program, opened its doors this morning with a mission to provide affordable food options for everyone while fostering community involvement. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place with Mayor Justin Towndale and MP Eric Duncan in attendance.

Arks Harvest will be open every Saturday from morning till 4 PM, conveniently located at Cornwall Square. This timing ensures that shoppers have a chance to browse and purchase fresh, affordable produce during the weekend.

One distinctive feature of Arks Harvest is its reliance on volunteers. The heart and soul of this initiative are the dedicated individuals who donate their time and efforts to make it all possible. From staffing the store to stocking, volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the success of Arks Harvest. If you’re interested in giving back to the community, you can even register to volunteer at the store.

Arks Harvest operates on the principle of community engagement. Its future plans, including potential expansion, depend on the response and involvement of the community it serves. By shopping at Arks Harvest and supporting its mission, you contribute directly to the program’s growth and sustainability.

Arks Harvest offers a unique shopping experience where you buy produce by the bag. One bag, which is the equivalent of the basket shown in the pictures, is available for $35. However, if you bring your Arks Harvest bag from a previous visit, you can enjoy a reduced price of $25 for a bag of fresh, quality produce.

At its core, Arks Harvest is a not-for-profit organization. The primary goal is not to generate profits but to provide access to affordable food options for all residents. They are committed to working with local farmers, businesses, and community programs to ensure that fresh and affordable produce is within reach, regardless of income levels.

While Arks Harvest may resemble a grocery store, it’s far from typical. One key feature that sets it apart is its ever-changing selection. Unlike conventional supermarkets that offer the same products week after week, Arks Harvest adapts its offerings based on product quality and price from their suppliers. This dynamic approach ensures that customers can discover new and affordable options each time they visit.

Your support can help shape the future of Arks Harvest, making it a vital resource for Cornwall residents for years to come. So, mark your calendar for Saturdays and be a part of this exciting and purposeful venture in Cornwall Square!
