Hi there, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jason Lavoie, and I’m the co-owner of Bud’s Records And Kool Things with my girlfriend Emily. At the store you can find, records, CD’s, cassettes, turn tables and more.

Bud’s is a record store located in Cornwall Ontario. We have been in business since March of 2019 operating out of the Maplewood Plaza (previously known as the Leduc shopping center) at 375 Eleventh Street East.

The store was founded and named by the previous owner, Bud O’Byrne, a local musician, business owner, music lover, and my best friend. Unfortunately, Bud passed away in April of 2020.

His sudden death left many, including myself, shocked and saddened with an extreme feeling of void attached to his death. Bud and I were in a band called Doctor Mom for almost 10 years. During that time we shared our love for creating and discovering music, and the underground teachings of Rock & Roll.

I have been asked by the Seeker to write a monthly column highlighting things happening at Bud’s and in our community.

If you are putting on an event and/or are band playing a show and you would like to let the community and surrounding areas know please reach out to us at [email protected] or message us on our Facebook page. We Will gladly mention it or advertise it in our upcoming articles.

I also wanted to mention that March 2nd marked our 5th year in business. We would like to thank everybody who came out to celebrate with us. We still have some of our limited edition 5 year anniversary t-shirts available in store.
and we’ll be adding more $20 New Sealed Records soon so remember to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates!

See you next month where I will tell you about my friendship with Bud over the years.
