I’m honored to revisit these beautiful, magical places.
Being surrounded by centuries of stories in such an ancient city is deeply inspiring. This place holds thousands of years of history, emotions, and magical moments.
Today, I want to share with you the story of the Sultan al-Ghuri Complex — a masterpiece created by Sultan Qansuh al-Ghuri, one of the most famous rulers of the Mamluk Empire. Built between 1503–1504 AD, this architectural wonder includes a mosque, a school, a Sufi lodge, a fountain, and a beautiful domed shrine.
Although Sultan al-Ghuri built the complex as his final resting place, he was not buried there. Still, the spirit of the place lives on — through its intricate architecture and the Sufi traditions that give it a special energy.
Walking through the complex, you can feel the prayers, the stories, and the weight of history in every stone.
It’s a space that feels timeless — a reminder that our past is always with us, shaping who we are today.
I sent many prayers while there, feeling grateful for the chance to connect with such a powerful piece of history.
We must never take these treasures for granted. They are gifts linking our present to our past, and to each other.
This was part of my journey during a truly magical visit to Egypt.
Edited for space.
