The newly formed Stormont Community Optimist Club held its very first member dinner meeting on Wednesday evening at Wing House, marking an exciting milestone for the group as it begins its mission to serve and uplift the community.
The meeting was well attended, with the club already boasting just about 30 enthusiastic members and several major projects already taking shape.
President Tim Sage shared his excitement about what’s ahead:
“We are ready to make a meaningful impact in our community. We have a passionate team focused on laying the groundwork for long-term success. We’re excited to get things off the ground and start giving back in a big way.”
Vice-President Terry Muir spoke about the energy and collaboration driving the new club:
“Building a new service club from the beginning is very exciting. So many great ideas are shared together as to what is the best way to serve our communities. We are a group that makes a difference and has fun doing it.”
Treasurer Christopher Pakenham added a hopeful note about the club’s vision for the future:
“A community grows stronger when people come together with a positive vision. Our new Optimist Club is here to inspire, encourage, and build that brighter future.”
More than just a service organization, the Stormont Community Optimist Club aims to bring out the best in kids, build friendships, and create lasting bonds through shared purpose and community spirit. With a strong foundation as this year’s priority, the club is already setting the tone for a legacy of service, unity, and impact.
