Louise Mignault and Julia Lucio have had enough!

After spending months seeing groups like “The Line Canada” and “Hugs Over Masks” widely spreading disinformation and denying basic science all the while gaining popularity nationwide, the Cornwall duo decided it was time to act and build a new website. And thus the www.masksoverprotests.com was born.

Cornwall, ON – Seaway Senior Citizens Club is gearing up for another busy Fall with a wide variety of activities, classes, programs, and special events geared to those fifty plus in the Cornwall / Akwesasne area.

“The people behind these protests claim to be standing up for small businesses and freedom,” said Julia.  “Yet they are blocking the streets during holiday shopping, and their actions are exactly the type of behaviour that will put those businesses back in lockdown, further limiting our freedoms!  It needs to stop.”

Louise adds “Despite what they say, there IS a global pandemic happening and it’s not the right time to gather maskless in large numbers disseminating conspiracy theories. Talk about spreading fear!!”

The website is an information hub for Covid related material with a side of satire.  While we are not experts our resources section contains links to articles, videos, websites and credible news stories that revolve around Covid-19, disinformation, vaccines etc that will be added to regularly.  A volunteer section allows people to get involved in the “fight”; expert opinion, fact-checkers and Covid testimonials are very welcome.

The satirical thread is visible in… well, you’ll see…

A Masks Over Protests Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/masksoverprotests)  accompanies the site providing space for robust commentary 🙂
