Past winners Carol and Randy Sauve

Cornwall Ontario – Amidst a night of glamour and glitz, with a wonderful meal prepared by Chef Luc McCabe, performances by trapeze artists and jugglers and music playing, the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards took place at the NAV Centre on Saturday night.
The night was hosted by Bill Halman and Dan Allaire from BOOM 101.9.

Our “Out and about” columnist, Carol Grant was there covering the event for us and at the second Award announcement (the Ambassador of the Year) her evening totally changed when the winner was announced. It was her fiancé Randy Sauve, owner of Fantasy Realm on Pitt Street. The award was to honour the work that is done through CAPE (Cornwall and area Pop Event) an annual ComicCon and pop culture event that in it’s first year saw 3,500 visitors and helped promote Cornwall while Randy and Carol traveled to other ComicCons around Canada researching for their local event.

Carol, who helps Randy put the event together was so excited when she was invited to the stage.  She told me “This was so totally unexpected and such an honour” and managed to complete her assignment and cover the rest of the Awards Evening for us. Congratulations to Randy and Carol!
