Cornwall Colts have 16 wins in last 18 games – tied for 2nd in CCHL

Cornwall Ontario – First star Liam Lascelle made 36 saves to backstop the Cornwall Colts to a 3-2 win over the Brockville Braves at the Ed Lumley Arena.

The Braves outshot the Colts 38-28 but Lascelle was stellar in goal earning his 23rd victory of the season.

Grant Cooper (24) and Nick Lalonde (22) paced the offense, each netting a goal and an assist. Justin McRae (2) also scored for the Colts while Brennan Markell chipped in with two assists.

The Colts record improved to 33-13-2-3 (71pts) as Cornwall remains in a tie with Ottawa for 2nd overall in the CCHL standings.

The Colts have won five in a row and are 16-1-1 since early December.

The Wendy’s Restaurant Three Stars were First Star Lascelle (COR), Second Star Sean Allen (BRO) and Third Star Ethan Mulhearn.

The Colts are back in action Friday night in Smiths Falls. Game time is 7:30pm. Cornwall then heads to Gloucester for a Sunday evening game against the Rangers.

The Colts return home next Thursday, January 16th to host the Smiths Falls Bears. Game time is 7:30pm at the Ed Lumley Arena.
