Bert, the jack-of-all trades, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again.Overtime,Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect.Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advise sthat”Anything can happen if you let it.”
Helming the show as director is longtime SVTC member Corey Disotell, who has assembled forty of Cornwall and area’s finest and most promising young stage actors for the cast. Producing the show are Jennifer Bellemare and Katie Blackadder, and Stephanie St. Louis returns again as musical director. Making her SVTC debut as choreographer is Shauna DuBray.
“Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins JR.” will be staged at the Aultsville Theatre, 2 St. Lawrence Drive, Cornwall, on Saturday, December 7 at 1:30PM and 4:30PM, and Sunday, December 8 at 1:30PM. Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $12.00 for children aged 12 and under. They are available in advance online at svtc.theticketwicket.ca.
