Pitt Street Promenade street closures scheduled for summer weekend will conclude immediately.
Hassan Rafiei, owner of the popular Schnitzels European Flavours restaurant on Pitt Street and organizer of the Pitt Promendae initiative that saw the closure of a portion of Pitt Street, has requested the City to cancel the remaining scheduled closures.
“With the introduction of Stage 3 and the opening of indoor dining along with the increased instore capacity, the need for extra space created by the closure of Pitt Street is no longer required,” explained Hassan Rafiei, “I want to thank my partners on this initiative, the DBIA, the City of Cornwall and Council for making the Pitt Street Promenade a possibility.”
Josh Casselman, owner of Kings and Little Ones and President of the DBIA, acknowledged Rafiei’s efforts, “I want to thank Hassan for the work he did to bring this initiative forward. The DBIA looks forward to working with others to support the Downtown as we navigate our way out of the pandemic.”
