The Tourism Development Corporation of Cornwall (TDCC) is looking forward to another great year of encouraging growth in the tourism sector.
2023 saw the Tourism Development Fund dispense over $300,000 to 34 applicants bringing events, conferences and tournaments to the city. The fund helps these event organizers increase their marketing outside of Cornwall as well as improve the overall tourist experience. The net result is increased tourism activity leading to greater positive impact on the local economy, with the potential of generating more repeat visitors.
“The Board is looking forward to another great year in 2024” says Dale Allen, Chair of the TDCC. “We have approximately $350,000 to award in 2024 and are encouraged by the continuous increase of quality applications we receive.”
The Tourism Development Fund accepts applications on an ongoing basis and can award up to $25,000 per application. The fund is generated from the proceeds of the Municipal Accommodation Tax collected at local hotels, motels and Airbnb’s.
Eligibility for funding is outlined at CornwallTourism.com/tdf, and all applications are completed online. Applicants are asked to submit their application at least three months in advance of their project start date.
