FAIL TO COMPLY

Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 5, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with release order. It is alleged on Dec. 5, 2025, the woman was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to not contact or communicate with her spouse. It is further alleged on this date, the woman was in contact with her partner. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The woman was subsequently located by Cornwall Police Service officers. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 12-year-old youth from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 6, 2025, and charged with mischief under $5,000. It is alleged in the early morning hours of Dec. 6, 2025, the youth damaged an individual’s motor vehicle. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for his arrest. Later on Dec. 6, 2025, the youth attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody and charged accordingly under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth was released to appear in court at a later date.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 45-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 6, 2025, and charged with fail to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on Nov. 10, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. On Dec. 6, 2025, police responded to an unwanted person complaint, and an investigation ensued. The man was located, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was released to appear in court on Jan. 13, 2026.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old man from Williamstown was arrested on Dec. 6, 2025, and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged on Dec. 6, 2025, the man assaulted his spouse. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. He was located by police, taken into custody and charged accordingly. The man was later released to appear in court on Jan. 6, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, IMPAIRED, REFUSAL

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 6, 2025, and charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

On Dec. 6, 2025, police were dispatched to the area of Brookdale Avenue for a possible impaired driver, and an investigation ensued. CPS officers subsequently located the motor vehicle in the area of Second Street East and a traffic stop was conducted. It is alleged on Dec. 6, 2025, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is further alleged she was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While police were conducting an impaired operation investigation, the woman allegedly refused to comply with the demand to complete a standardized field sobriety test. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Dec. 30, 2025.

FAIL TO ATTEND

Cornwall, ON – A 60-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 7, 2025, and charged with fail to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on Nov. 3, 2025, the man was scheduled to attend police headquarters for fingerprinting and failed to do so. On Dec. 7, 2025, the man was located by a CPS officer who was on general patrol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Jan. 13, 2026.

FAIL TO COMPLY, MISCHIEF

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 7, 2025, and charged with fail to comply with probation order as well as mischief under $5,000. On Oct. 30, 2025, police were dispatched to a suspicious person complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on this date, the woman was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged she kicked an individual’s motor vehicle. As a result of the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the woman’s arrest. On Dec. 7, 2025, she attended police headquarters to address the matter. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 13, 2026.

MAN FACES 16 CHARGES INCLUDING AGGRAVTED ASSAULT, ROBBERY WITH THEFT

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 7, 2025, on the strength of outstanding warrants and charged with the following:

  • Five counts of fail to comply with probation order
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Aggravated assault
  • Administer noxious thing
  • Two counts of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Robbery with theft
  • Assault
  • Assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Administer noxious thing with intent to endanger life or cause bodily harm
  • Carrying a concealed weapon

It is alleged from Sept. 18-23, 2025, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to report in person to a probation officer and to live at a place approved by the probation officer. He failed to do so, and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

On Sept. 22, 2025, a CPS officer was dispatched to a Second Street East business for a shop theft complaint, which was later determined to be a robbery. It is alleged on Sept. 22, 2025, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is also alleged the man was involved in a robbery at the business. It is further alleged he punched the Loss Prevention Officer in the face, resulting in injuries, and pepper-sprayed another individual. A second warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

On Oct. 24, 2025, police responded to an assault complaint, and an investigation ensued. It is alleged on Oct. 21, 2025, the man assaulted an individual, choked him and sprayed the individual with bear spray. As a result of the investigation, another warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Dec. 7, 2025, a CPS officer, who was on general patrol, observed the man operating a motor vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess a weapon. Further investigation revealed he was allegedly in possession of edged weapons. The man was taken into custody, the warrants were executed and he was charged accordingly. The man was held for a bail hearing. 

UTTERING THREATS, ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old woman from Cornwall was arrested on Dec. 7, 2025, and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and assault. It is alleged on Dec. 1, 2025, the woman threatened to kill her landlord and assaulted him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. As a result, police developed reasonable and probable grounds for the woman’s arrest. On Dec. 7, 2025, she attended police headquarters to address the matter. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on Jan. 13, 2026.

CALLS FOR SERVICE: There were 146 calls for service in the City of Cornwall over the weekend (8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. today).
